SUMMARY:Coffee Break - An All-inclusive\, Wise Way to Build!
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER NOW! \nHOT TOPIC: This Coffee Break will discuss the need for a carbon-negative community development strategy\, recognizing what needs to change with the way we build today. According to anthropologist Robin Dunbar\, in order to solve climate change we now need to move to the next level of human evolution\, by optimizing our social power to create the future we want\, guided by community needs. Our guests will explore these concepts\, sharing how they plan to convert existing buildings and adapt their combined skillsets to create highly functional Post Carbon Communities of Practice. \nFEATURED SPEAKERS:  \n\n\nTom and Carol Braford are co-founders of Irresistible Community Builders\, LLC. They have created a model for forming communities where people live and work in cooperation with their neighbors and in harmony with nature. They received an Award of Excellence from the International Green Industry Hall of Fame for this work. They are creating the Arizmendi Ecovillage in St Louis. They are committed to a world that works for everyone\, with no one left out. \nTom has an extensive background in historic preservation and is the inventor of the suite of 5R’s building technologies. Carol is a CPA and worked in the corporate world for over 20 years\, conducting audits internationally and spent 10 years as Regional Coordinator for Citizens’ Climate Lobby\, coaching volunteers in four states to work with their local communities and Members of Congress to pass effective climate legislation. \nREGISTER NOW! \nNeed a break? Or a quick face-to-face with your green building community? New thoughts\, ideas\, and conversation to jump start your day? Join your Green Buildings Are Better community every 3rd Friday on Zoom for a quick (free) coffee break discussing green building and sustainability hot topics with local and national featured guests!\nView previous LIVE Missouri Gateway Green Building Council Coffee Breaks on our YouTube Channel.  \nConsent to use photographic images: \nThis event will be recorded and shared on our website.
