Green Building Break – From Price to Purpose: Rewriting the Rules of Value

November 12 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Throughout our economy, a quiet truth is becoming impossible to ignore: We are valuing the wrong things. We’ve built systems that reward extraction over contribution, speculation over service, accumulation over connection.

It’s time to retire the antiquated metric of price per square foot, which only represents size and cost, to something that is more meaningful, applicable, and reflective of today’s market dynamics and consumer demand.

Nowhere is this misvaluation more entrenched or consequential than in America’s housing sector. The current price per square foot valuation model incentivizes homes built to the bare minimum code, ignoring essential factors like performance, resilience, and wellness; burdening homeowners with higher operating costs; limiting the ability for homes to withstand intensifying climate events; and thwarting profit opportunities for builders.

Join us for a webinar with Sara Gutterman of Green Builder Media where she will introduce a new valuation metric they’ve developed – Value Per Square Foot™ – which incorporates sustainability, resiliency, wellness, efficiency, independence, and intelligence into the way that homes are valued and appraised.
