EEMICI engages a wide array of audiences to work together toward strategies that promote low-energy mixed-income communities as places where people can live, work, play and age, and where the energy burden levels are low to none. Mixed income communities are critical to achieving neighborhood equity and rejuvenating economy and quality of life. FEATURED SPEAKER: Justin Idleburg, Principal CEO of Cabanne District Community Development Corporation Justin Idleburg is the Executive Director of Cabanne District Community Development Corporation. Justin works with governmental leaders, grassroots leaders, faith-based rural/urban communities. He educates with guidance in the areas of health equity, equitable community development, and equitable electrification, in order to empower community members in understanding the impact of an applied racial equity lens in correcting inequitable outcomes. To create an opportunity for all to thrive, Justin coaches communities to increase their capacity around policy analysis, coalition-building, strategic partnerships, legislative advocacy, and organizational development. Missouri Gateway Green Building Council is currently seeking nominations for At-Large seats on our Board of Directors. All terms begin in 2024. Nominations are due by 5 pm Central Time on Friday, August 18, 2023.Self nominations are accepted and encouraged. Nominees must be a member in good standing with Missouri Gateway Green Building Council must currently serve or have previously served on a committee or as a volunteer with the organization. Nominations are accepted from the membership. The Governance Committee collects nominations and ensures eligibility of nominees. The committee then consults a matrix of leadership needs to determine a slate to present to the board for approval. The committee expects to present a slate to the board for discussion at the September 2023 board meeting.
